Flying horse carousel Flying Horse Carousel, Bay ST. Watch Hill, Westerly, RI. (401) 596-7761. Brought to Watch Hill around 1879, this is in contention for the title of oldest carousel in the country. Hop onto one of the 20 horses, hand-carved with real tails and manes, and try to grab the brass ring as you go round. Open daily from 1 to 9 pm. Nominal fee.
Mystic Marinelife Aquarium
Encounter ocean animals in an exciting new way. Experience Birds of the Outback, an exciting new interactive exhibit for this summer only - opens May 3! Reach in and touch a ray, go beak to nose with a penguin, and feel the splash of a beluga whale. Come visit a wonderful variety of animals from beluga whales to Stellar sea lions, African penguins, blue tongued skinks and more. Come see Dr. Ballard’s new exhibit, “Exploring Your National Marine Sanctuaries”, which takes you LIVE into some of our National Marine Sanctuaries where you will discover shipwrecks and see colorful corals without having to leave the Aquarium!
